Look! Look! A TRAIL!

After three days of stomping down protea bushes along the ridges of the Langeberg Traverse, I am thrilled to see a footpath appear as I enter Marloth Nature Reserve.

I fail to realize I shouldn’t be here because I’m so happy to find the footpath. Well, at least until tomorrow. As silly as this sounds, it takes me two more days to realize that I’ve walked much further this day than I planned. I think it was a mix of eagerness to continue forward and the blur of days spent in mountains that made it so difficult to realize that I missed my planned campsite.

But being early isn’t bad so now I can concern myself with navigating with trails that don’t always appear on my map. And as luck would have it, the signage was designed for adventure.
