Bushmen’s interpretation of time is said to have the future behind us, kept hidden from view, and that only out past is in-front of us able to be seen.
I recall this while bouncing in the back of a bakkie (South African nickname for pick-up trucks) on my way to start walking from Montagu to George. I can clearly see where I have come from. The mountains to the right of me are those that I walked just three weeks ago. Behind me, unseen, are the mountains I shall now face. Who knows what’ll happen.
