Boots on & Getting Ready

With the weather in Maryland modestly cooled from some rain, I took a 7.5-mile walk around St. Mary’s River State Park on a trail I’ve used to prepare for treks for the last decade. The muddy ‘fun bits’ from its past may be covered in stable wooden walkways, but it continues to offer a great easy, but long, walk for hikers. Break in the boots, check for ‘hot=spots’ that may turn into blisters on the trail.

I’ve got just three days until I start traveling, two weeks until I am in Cape Town, and three weeks until I am on the Rim of Africa Trail!
