Vasque Boots are tough — but my soles were turning to butter. The culprit isn’t all the rocks I walk across, it is all the dead vegetation I am stomping down. This boot update comes after last night’s run down Sarahs Riverberg and another night on a deflated sleeping pad. My spirit is a bit like the souls of the boot: worn.
This is what my boots would have looked brand new, and add a bit of dust and thats what they looked like that on the first day of walking in the Cederberg. I knew coming into this walk they weren’t going to last unscathed. Before leaving Montagu, I rubbed my boots down with some leather food (wax for your boot) to help keep the leather water resistant and durable. They looked so happy glowing in the morning sun. Its mean to destroy the boots by charging through the bush like this… but sorry walking buddies, we’re stuck together.
